Oreca 03 - Release notes

Finally, it's here!
After a couple of testprints and edits of the body and chassis it's finally ready for release!

The Oreca 03 is a Le Mans Prototype (LMP) designed by the French manufacturer Oreca. The car made its debut in 2011 during the 12 hours of Sebring. This slot body is made for an inline or anglewinder
setup. The chassis meets the requirements of the LMP-2 and the LMP-1 DISCA regulations.

The chassis is designed in collaboration with Olifer.

There will be a special topic on Slotforum in the Hobby traders showroom.

Some information for the build:

● Spoiler Assembly
The outer wingends must be inserted into the slots. These can be fixed with a drop of superglue or liquid rubber (SHOE-GOO)
The middle wing supports only need to touch the body. Slots were provided for this, but should not be used.

● Sharkfin Assembly
The sharkfin has 2 small retainerplates on the bottom of the fin. It must be inserted trough the bottom into his place.
This can be fixed by a drop of superglue or liquid rubber. Don't forget to paint it first!

● Headlights Assembly
To get as much detail into the headlights I decided to print these in Frosted Detail from Shapeways.
The flexibility of this material is slightly bad, but the detail that can be created with this is unimaginable.
In the body, two points were provided to fit the headlight unit. Fixed by a drop of superglue or liquid rubber.

● Bodyfloat points
Olifer provided the chassis with extra bodyfloat holes. You can use 2mm end screws. Possibly in conjunction with the SV Workz
body float end posts. (LINK) Another option is to use the Scaleauto body float system. (SC-5129B)

● Painting
The final quality of a 3D printed body has a lot to do with preparation. The best result is achieved by using Tamiya Primer.
Spray a layer, and then sand flat again with a dry sandpaper, grain 240. You can repeat this until your satisfied. ( Probably 4 or 5 times )
After that, you can paint the body like a normal one!
