Race Report: 6 Hours of Rock Bull Ring

This weekend the Oreca03 by #SVworkz with #Olifer (NSR pod) chassis had its first unexpected race @ the Rock Bull Ring in Rockingham Slot Car Club.

I have so many things to say about this project and race weekend, but for once I will keep it short.

The looks of the car were complimented with the "Best of Show" trophy.
Although I didn't get a trophy, the first pictures say it all for me, the Oreca in front of the very beautiful Rock Bull Ring statue was more than enough.

A short and only practice session on Saturday and a debrief at dinner, showed room for some setup improvements.
So Sunday morning at 4.30 I had some work to do, eventually paid off into a Pole Position.
She handled like a dream. On to the race, The race in the first couples of hours was more than just brilliant, it was an actual race.
We were swapping P1 with DemonSlot (LMP2) a lot of times and Sports Carazing (LMP2) wasn't that far behind to have a go for the top spot as well.

Rockingham (LMP1) had early issues and saw them basically slowly climbing their way up from the back.

Quickly forward, a lot of technical car issues and sh*t happened on the track, the field spread out bit by bit.

Rockingham passed us, I believe after 4 hours of racing, and we had to settle for second place overall.
What is a perfect result for the first outing of this project in my opinion?

So to end this little write-up, I want to thank SVworkz and Olifer to bring this dream project alive.
Slotfabrik for printing the decals.Tamar as well for all of his knowledge and Lennard for his time and driving skills.

Is there room for improvement of this car, of course!!!
But that will be a different story for later.
And last but not least, #DiSCA and Rockingham slot car club for this beautiful event and track.

Thank you for reading.

Kind Regards Tom
